K1NU Consulting - RF Safety Analysis |
| Is the zoning board (or your neighbor) worried about the signal levels from your antennas and RF safety? You should be comforted to know that almost all amateur installations meet the FCC Bulletin 65 guidelines. Nevertheless, you are required by Part 97.13 of the Amateur regulations to perform the required calculations for your station, unless you meet the low power exemptions. A good web site 'calculator' is http://n5xu.ae.utexas.edu/rfsafety (Note: this is not an endorsement of that site). To an entity such as a town Zoning Board, a professionally prepared analysis may carry a lot more weight than a page you filled out on a web site. I can provide such a document for you, wet-stamped for Massachusetts. Click on the link below to see a sample. My standard RF Exposure analysis includes: View Sample RF Safety Analysis See my Tower Permit Document Set
